This week, Jared discusses why Tom Taylor’s DCEASED is one of the best Superman stories ever told. He addresses the first series and then Dead Planet to compare how the characters of Clark Kent and Jon Kent in both stories. He then contrasts these depictions to Son of Kal-El and provides an argument as to why DCEASED worked better than Son of Kal-El.

This is the prime example of what we call the Tom Taylor Paradox: Tom Taylor can write amazing Elseworlds storylines, but he has difficulty writing in-continuity storylines. DCEASED is a perfect case study as to this theory as it directly contrasts with a Superman story he wrote in the main DC continuity.
